Bagage à main by Laboratorio Olfattivo is a fragrance with intense leather accents and a sophisticated woody structure, inspired by one of perfumer Pierre-Constantin Guéros’ most precious memories. Raised in a family with a long tradition of leather and fur craftsmanship, he received a travel bag handcrafted by his father for his 18th birthday. Made from caramel-colored calfskin, it featured a remarkably soft texture and a design inspired by the aristocratic luggage of the Grand Tour. The emotional connection to this object became the starting point for an olfactory composition developed in collaboration with Roberto Drago, in which the elegance of natural leather is expressed through a carefully balanced combination of warmth, depth and refinement.
The opening highlights the spicy character of nutmeg, accompanied by the fleur de cuir accord and the resinous nuances of cistus. At the heart, Italian leather reveals a supple, velvety texture, enhanced by three varieties of vetiver sourced from Java, Haiti and Madagascar. Peru balsam completes this structure with warm, balsamic accents, creating a subtle contrast between spicy freshness, woody depth and the delicacy of leather accords. As the fragrance evolves, the base reveals different varieties of patchouli, alongside Ambronova and the creaminess of tonka beans, giving the composition a warm, rich and sensual dimension.
